Any wedding is a tough task to organise but the April nuptials of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles are proving to be a larger headache than normal for his mother,Queen Elizabeth II.

籌辦任何婚禮都是一項艱鉅任務，但（英國）王儲查爾斯與卡蜜拉•帕克•鮑爾斯四月的婚禮，更是讓他的母親、女王伊莉莎白二世比一般人更頭疼。

The courting divorcees had to scrap an initial plan to tie the knot at Windsor Castle, one of the queen's official residences just outside London, after it was discovered that the venue had no licence to hold a civil ceremony.

在獲知溫莎堡無權舉辦平民婚禮後，這對想共結連理的離婚者不得不取消在這個場地結婚的原定計畫。溫莎堡是女王正式寢宮之一，位於倫敦郊外。

Licensing the palace for a civil wedding was deemed to be too much trouble--it would have also made the venue “regularly available”, for three years, to other British couples who want to marry there--so the pair opted for Windsor's much smaller townhall down the road.

准許溫莎堡舉辦一場平民婚禮被認為過於麻煩－因為此例一開，往後三年此一場地也必須「經常開放」給其他希望在那裡結婚的英國情侶使用－因此這對戀人選擇在同一條路上、場地小了許多的溫莎市政廳完婚。

nuptials：名詞，指婚禮，結婚，為wedding的同義字，當名詞時皆以複數形態出現。nuptial是形容詞，nuptial hapiness就是「婚姻的幸福」。

divorcee：名詞，指離了婚的人。源自divorce（離婚），divorce可作為名詞與及物動詞。當名詞用法如to sue for a divorce，意為訴請離婚。及物動詞用法如Mr Hill divorced his wife.（希爾先生與妻子離婚。）

tie the knot：綁上蝴蝶結，也就是結婚的意思。例句：Hey, when are you and Susan going to tie the knot?（嘿！你跟蘇珊何時要結婚呀？）

opt：動詞，通常後接for，意指選擇、決定。例句：He opted for early retirement.（他決定提早退休。）

townhall：市政廳或鎮公所。town是指小市鎮，hall是會堂或大廳。台北市政府大樓英文是Taipei City Hall，不是Taipei City Government（政府），台北市府大樓的招牌曾一度誤用這個名稱。
