生活美語《 He’s just got hitched》

生活美語《 He’s just got hitched》

He’s just got hitched

Boris:Well, would you believe it? What got into him? We never thought he would.
Monica:Got into who? Who are you talking about?
Boris:Hank Carter, my buddy from navy days. I've just got this e-mail from him, look!
Monica:No, just tell me. Is he running for president or something?
Boris:Very funny. No, he's just got hitched. At the age of 47!
Monica:Well what's so surprising about that? People get married when they're even older than that.
Boris:I know, it's just that Hank never had any interest in getting married. He had plenty of girlfriends but never anyone special.
Monica:Well some woman must be taking a big risk.

Would you believe it? What got into him? Would you believe it? Would you believe it? He turned his back on me when I said hello to him(真是豈有此理,我跟他打招呼,他轉過身不理不睬)。
What got / has gotten into someone? What's gotten into the boss today? He's treating us all to lunch(老闆今天為什麼一改常態呢?
Your wife called to say that there'll be no dinner for you tonight." "Very funny. Now tell me what she said."(「你太太打電話來,說今晚沒有飯給你吃。」
He's just got hitched。 The donkey was hitched to a post(驢子給拴在柱上)。
He was quite a rake before he got hitched / got spliced. Now he is a typical family man(他結婚之前,是個花花公子。
