針對11月24日台灣將舉行2020東奧正名公投，中華奧會今天出示在11月16日收到的IOC(International Olympic Committee，國際奧林匹克委員會)來函，若國家奧會受到外界壓力干預，強調未來將依照奧林匹克憲章27.9條，終止或撤回國家奧會承認。

除違反奧林匹克憲章給予相關處置和懲處之外，如國家奧會的活動遭該國憲法、法律或其他規定，或任何政府及其他機構的行為所影響或阻礙，國際奧會執行委員會於聽取該國家奧會意見後，得做任何適當決定以保護國家奧會的奧林匹克活動，包括中止或撤回對該國家奧會的承認。

Apart from the measures and sanctions provided in the case of infringement of the Olympic Charter, the IOC Executive Board may take any appropriate decisions for the protection of the Olympic Movement in the country of an NOC, including suspension of or withdrawal of recognition from such NOC if the constitution, law or other regulations in force in the country concerned, or any act by any governmental or other body causes the activity of the NOC or the making or expression of its will to be hampered. The IOC Executive Board shall offer such NOC an opportunity to be heard before anysuch decision is taken.

今天對外說明的中華奧會秘書長沈依婷表示，針對公投結果，中華奧會已決定召開會議討論因應，沈依婷說：「更名議題管轄權在國際奧會執委會，之前來函已經確定不同意更改名稱，呼籲各界不要有情緒性投票！」
